In today’s article we are going to share some of the best natural, home remedies to keep ants far, far away.

Cloves, cinnamon and bay leaves
All three of these ingredients have one thing in common: they all have a strong scent that can scare ants away. What you need to do is put cloves, cinnamon, or bay leaves in little bags made of pantyhose. Scatter these little bags around your house, in the places where you normally see ants. In order for this remedy to be effective, try to trade out the little bags every two weeks.

Essential oils
Just like cloves are great at scaring ants away due to their strong odor, its essential oil does the same thing. It’s recommended that you spray some of this oil or some peppermint oil on the surfaces where ants normally walk, such as close to walls, doors, and windows. Repeat this process every 3 to 4 days in order to ensure the effectiveness of the smell.

Lavender and camphor
If you have a problem with ants in your closets and drawers, you can turn to lavender or camphor leaves. All you have to do is put them in the desired locations. That way, their strong odor will keep the ants away.

Lemon, orange, or cucumber peel
Ants don’t like the smell of these peels, and will run away from them both inside the house or in the garden. All you have to do is scatter the peel in the most affected areas of your garden or house. Trade out the peel once a week because they lose their aroma over time.

Vinegar and detergent
A very practical way to protect your house is by spraying this mixture all over: Mix one half of a cup of water with two spoons of biodegradable detergent and two spoons of white vinegar. The detergent and vinegar will keep ants away. Spray it on all clean surfaces where you find ants.
